Grilling Tips

Preventing meat from sticking

Always preheat the cooking surface with the hood down for 15 minutes, then place food on grate and allow to sear and seal in its own juices. No need to keep flipping! Always place chicken meat side down on grill. A light coating of oil or spray (will leave a stain on areas of your grid, that can be removed by placing grid in a self-cleaning oven during the clean cycle) will help seal in juices.

Storing natural gas grills
After cleaning the grill, turn off at appliance control knob. It is best to use the incline field installed cutoff valve when the grill is not in use. It is also recommended that you remove the control knobs by pulling them straight out towards you while they are in the “Off” position. This will prevent accidental turn-ons. When storing the grill indoors be sure to break the connection between the hose and gas supply line. Turn the gas supply off before disconnecting the hose assembly. To protect the gas fitting, insert the plastic plug into the female quick connect.
Place the plastic cap provided over the brass fitting on the male end of the hose.

Storing liquid propane gas grills
Remove the control knobs if you wish. When the grill is to be stored indoors, the connection between the propane supply and the grill must be severed and the tank must be stored outdoors in a well-ventilated area.

When the tank is not removed from the grill, both must be stored outdoors in a well-ventilated space. A grill cover is recommended for all grills stored outdoors.

Gauging the amount of fuel in a liquid propane tank

By placing your hand at the top of the tank and slowly moving it down the side until the tank feels cool to the touch - while the grill is in operation - you will get a good approximation of how much fuel remains in your tank.

Securing patio base
To secure the console patio base to a wooden deck try using four lag screws 5/16” or 3/8” x 3” and washers. To secure to a concrete deck, we recommend four Ackerman-Johnson anchors or standard lead anchors.

Flare-ups
Flare-ups are caused by the flash which occurs when the natural juices from fatty foods fall on hot briquettes. Controlled flare-ups are what give grilled foods their delicious outdoor flavor and appearance. Excessive flare ups may happen when your grill is not level, or the food you are cooking is exceptionally fatty. Never try to control flare ups by pouring liquid directly onto the briquettes, you could cause injury to the grill and will void your warranty.

Gas Grill Maintenance
Keep the following tools near your grill for easy, regular clean-ups: brass wire grill brush, stainless steel wire brush, soap embedded steel wool pads, mild dish soap, sponge, plastic scraper, 1” putty knife, foil catch pan liners.

Clean the cooking grate every time you grill.
As Needed:

· Change the catch pan liner
· Remove smoke stains from the grill lid and side burner
· Clean the flavorizer bars
· Clean the warming racks and control panel
· Clean the outside of the endcaps and cookbox
· Clean the bottom tray
· Wax or paint the lid
· Never use oven cleaner on your grill
